At Anthony Chabot Park, we found two chess boards, and two game sheets with starting positions and sets of moves. Lyle, unsurprisingly, was psyched. While playing through the games, it occurred to us: each set of moves represented two directions. For example, if red moved his Queen from d5 to b7,and gold moved his rook from b6 to f6, that would make one set of two directions: up left(NW) and right(E).
Remembering back to the Jackpot game, we thought: two directions = semaphore code. And sure enough, each set of moves, when converted into semaphore code, resulted in:
